Huffington Post blogger Brent Budowsky advised the Hillary Clinton campaign on how to politically “slaughter” Donald Trump, according to internal emails released by Wikileaks.

Budowsky advised Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta to find a way to legitimately release a “Trump ISIS video,” and to hit him hard on his “bromance” with Russian president Vladimir Putin.

“Re the Trump ISIS video, if we don’t have the proof campaign should assign 100 people to look for it ASAP, there is probably something on tape somewhere,” he wrote in a December 2015 email to Podesta, apparently referring to an ISIS propaganda video that incorporates Trump.

Clinton took flak that December from media fact checkers after she claimed ISIS was using Trump comments as a recruiting tool in propaganda videos, because there was a lack of evidence to support her claims. But the following May Politifact changed its rating of her statements to “true” after The Wall Street Journal and Newsweek reported on two propaganda videos using Trump comments.

Budowsky adds another bit of advice on Trump in the email, telling Podesta Clinton should be careful not to bet on Putin agreeing to remove Syrian President Bashar al Assad in her position on the war.

“Odds that Putin agrees to remove Assad are only slightly better than the odds the College of Cardinals chooses me to someday succeed Pope Francis,” he wrote. “Best approach is to slaughter Donald for his bromance with Putin, but not go too far betting on Putin re Syria.”
