The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) ran an ad in Illinois’ 10th District praising Republican Rep. Bob Dold’s anti-Republican nominee Donald Trump stance, according to a Thursday report by the National Review.
“Dold is an independent voice who stood up to Donald Trump months ago,” the narrator in the ad says. The ad uses CNN footage of Dold talking against the party nominee in August. “I think Donald Trump has disqualified himself.”
The ad aired Monday, although the NRCC didn’t publish the ad on its official website. The National Review didn’t publish how much the NRCC spent on the ad.
There isn’t much in the way of public polling in the race, but Republican internal polls showed Dold seven points ahead of former U.S. Rep. Brad Schneider, but internal Democratic polling shows Schneider ahead by five points Oct. 13.
