The Mexican Peso and the Dow Jones Industrial Average are tanking on the news that FBI Director James Comey is reopening the Clinton e-mail investigation.

Comey wrote a letter to Congress Friday announcing that the FBI is reopening the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s secret e-mails. Comey cited the emergence of new e-mails which were germane to the FBI’s previous investigation, and he said the agency needs to review those messages to see if their was any classified information leaked.

The Mexican Peso and the Dow began a free-fall the minute Comey made the announcement. The Dow fell over 53 points in just one hour after news broke of Comey’s announcement at 1 p.m.

The Peso is down 1.3 percent as of 2 p.m. Friday. The Mexican currency is viewed by many as a measure to gauge Trump’s probability of winning. Many pundits believed the Peso’s earlier gains to be a sign that Clinton would win the election.

Gold also skyrocketed, up some 14.4 points, or 1.1 percent, in value following the announcement.
