The day before Halloween, reporters at a handful of liberal news organizations turned into Harry Reid fangirls, falling over themselves to praise the Democratic senator’s letter criticizing James Comey on Sunday.

Reid, who is known for his no-holds-barred political tactics and once bragging about lying about Mitt Romney’s tax history, accused Comey of violating the Hatch Act by informing Congress of the renewed investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server.

Ostensibly neutral reporters were couldn’t contain their giddiness.

Bloomberg reporter Sahil Kapur called the last line of Reid’s speech “amazing,” adding a “fire” emoji to express his delight.

NBC News reporter Frank Thorp agreed, saying, “the end of this letter from @SenatorReid to FBI Dir Comey is some [fire].”

Other members of the media hopped on the bandwagon as well, celebrating Reid’s letter.
