Stock Markets Rally For Sixth Day After Trump Win

Domestic and global stock markets rallied for the sixth consecutive day following the announcement of President-elect Donald Trump’s win over former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

The Dow Jones Industrial average opened at 18,876.77 and sits at 18,909.57 as of 9:31 a.m Monday morning. The Dow Jones average has risen almost 1,000 points since Election Day.

The Dow U.S. Total Market Index rose from 21,989 on Election Day to 22,440.44 Friday, a gain of more than 450 points in just one week. The U.S. Total Market Index opened at 22, 471.01 on Monday morning.

The NASDAQ Composite Index opened at 5,191.82 and sits at 5,234.07 at 9:35 a.m. Monday morning. The NASDAQ Composite index soared 100 points from Election Day to market closing on Friday Nov. 11.

Japan’s NIKKEI 225 Index opened at 17,480.23 on Monday morning, and sits at 17,672,62 as of 9:13 a.m. Monday. This is a continuation of an upward trend for the Japanese stock market since Thursday.

Britain’s FTSE 100 index opened at 6806.02, nearly 70 points up from Friday, on Monday morning.

Stoxx Europe 600 Index continued its upward trend Monday, opening 60 points up from its Friday close.
