In a photo released Friday, Ivanka sits opposite of her father and Shinzo Abe during a 90-minute meeting that was held at Trump Tower in New York the day before.

It was Trump’s first visit with a foreign leader since the election.

Ivanka’s husband Jared Kushner also attended.

“I am very honored to see the President-elect ahead of other world leaders,” Abe later told reporters. “The Japan-U.S. alliance is the axis of Japan’s diplomacy and security. The alliance become alive only when there is trust between us.”

“I would like to build such a trust with Mr Trump.”

The press was infuriated that Ivanka was even there.
