President-elect Donald Trump was named TIME Magazine’s 2016 Person of the Year Wednesday.
Trump’s competition was reportedly his defeated presidential opponent, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and internet hackers who allegedly infiltrated foreign governments.
“I don’t think that we have ever seen one person, operating in such an unconventional way, have an impact on the events of the year,” Time Magazine editor Nancy Gibbs told CNN.
Trump told “The Today Show” the award was a “very, very great honor.”
