Carrie Fisher suffered a “cardiac episode” Friday and is in critical condition, according to reports.

Fisher, best known for playing Princess Leia in Star Wars, suffered the heart attack while aboard a flight from London to Los Angeles, and was rushed from the plane to a hospital as soon as it touched down, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Fisher was “in a lot of distress on the flight,” a source told the Times, and according to an eyewitness she stopped breathing at one point.

Fisher had been on tour promoting the release of her latest book, The Princess Diarist.

Besides her famous star turn as Leia, Fisher has also appeared in films such as When Harry Met Sally and Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery. She has written three memoirs and four semi-autobiographical novels, which often frankly confront her struggles with drug use and bipolar disorder.
