A Russian defense ministry jet, carrying the famous Red Army Choir, crashed into the black sea Christmas Eve, killing everyone on board.

In addition to the 60 person choir, there were 32 others on board. The plane was on its way to a Russian airbase in Syria from the resort town of Sochi. The choir was meant to perform for Russian soldiers at the base who are spending Christmas away from their families.

Russia often sends athletes, singers, and other domestic entertainers to Syria to cheer on its war effort assisting Syrian President Bashir Assad.

The cause of the crash is still unknown. Russian media reports the jet may have gone down due to a technical malfunction or pilot error, and the weather was known to be good for flying.
