Frontex, the European Union’s border agency, has warned that Islamic State is manipulating refugees in Europe into carrying out terror attacks.

The agency further stressed ISIS is placing its own fighters among migrants fleeing war to a large extent.

“Some people might get radicalized or manipulated or used or utilized by terrorist groups after they enter the EU,” Fabrice Leggeri, executive director of Frontex, told Voice of America. “This is something where I don’t have clear indications.”

Europol, the European police agency, recently said more than 300 cases of jihadis attempting to recruit refugees had been detected as of April. A new report from Europol stressed that ISIS infiltration at migrant camps is likely to continue as the terror group pushes from the migration crisis to continue. (RELATED: Berliners Come To Terms With Terrorism Being The New Normal)

“Given that it is in the interests of IS [ISIS] to inflame the migration crisis to polarize the EU population and turn sections of it against those seeking asylum, some infiltration of refugee camps and other refugee/migrant groups is likely,” the report warned.
