Environmental journalist Eric Holthaus said he was in counseling to help him cope with President-elect Donald Trump’s election in a Twitter meltdown Friday.

Holthaus, a self described “Climate hawk,” operates the blog “Today in Weather & Climate” as well as hosting his own podcast about global warming. He has almost 65,000 followers on Twitter.

“I’m saying this b/c I know many ppl feel deep despair about climate, especially post-election,” Holthaus stated on Twitter. “I struggle every day. You are not alone … There are days where I literally can’t work. I’ll read a story & shut down for rest of the day. Not much helps besides exercise & time.”

Holthaus acknowledged that he was seeing a counselor to cope with his feelings of grief about Trump’s election.

Holthaus previously attempted to create an activist backup climate database for federal data, out of fear that Trump would delete government climate data. He attempted to back up temperature data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and sea ice data from the National Snow and Ice Data Center.

Trump has given little to no indication he plans to order a mass campaign of data manipulation, and the claims were originally started by environmental activists.

The president-elect has repeatedly written tweets skeptical of global warming. Trump has called global warming a “hoax,” “mythical,” a “con job,” “nonexistent,” and “bullshit.” Trump has previously stated that he views policies created to fight global warming as damaging to U.S. manufacturing competitiveness with China.

Trump has also indicated that he will appoint Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt, who environmentalists claim denies global warming, to head the Environmental Protection Agency. Pruitt has battled the EPA numerous times in court.

Holthaus isn’t alone in his despair. Major environmental groups such as The Sierra Club formally endorsed Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.
