President Donald Trump terminated the White House’s global warming website within an hour of being sworn into office Friday.

The link for Obama’s old global warming webpage currently redirects to a Trump transition webpage.

The current White House energy policy page does not mention global warming or climate change, but pledges to bring the U.S. “An America First Energy Policy” and notes that “President Trump is committed to eliminating harmful and unnecessary policies such as the Climate Action Plan and the Waters of the U.S. rule.”

Obama’s webpage previously discussed global warming at length, paying particular attention to international agreements designed to slow it.

Environmentalists have been terrified that terrified Trump will censor scientists or delete government data about global warming. They even tried create back-ups of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) temperature data to prevent this.

Democratic Florida Sen. Bill Nelson questioned Wilbur Ross, Trump’s choice to head the Department of Commerce, if he would change existing policies to prevent NOAA scientists from sharing their opinions about global warming with the press or public, or suppress federal data about global warming. Ross stated that he ” support[ed] the dissemination of valid information to the public.”
