According to Deadline, the hour-long special was the most-watched program across all Big Four networks — NBC, CBS, ABC and FOX — and had more than one million more viewers than the second most-watched show that night. The interview brought in a 1.7 rating in the key 18-49 demographic.

During the interview, Trump said he will deliver on his campaign promise to enact “extreme vetting” for immigrants and refugees entering the United States.

“We are excluding certain countries, but for other countries we are going to have extreme vetting,” Trump said. “It’s going to be very hard to come in. Right now it’s very easy to come in. It’s going to be very, very hard. I don’t want terror in this country.”
