Former President George H.W. Bush was released from the hospital Monday, following a nearly two-week stint at Houston Methodist Hospital for pneumonia.

Bush spent five days in the intensive care unit suffering from severe respiratory complications from pneumonia. Former First Lady Barbara Bush was also admitted to the hospital for surveillance after “experiencing fatigue and coughing,” according to Bush family spokesman Jim McGrath. Barbara was discharged on Jan. 23, while George remained in the hospital.

McGrath tweeted out Monday afternoon the former president was leaving Methodist Hospital, and that the family deeply appreciated “everyone’s prayers and good wishes.”

This is not the first time the elderly former president had a lengthy stay in a hospital. Bush spent two months in the hospital for bronchitis in 2012, and was hospitalized for shortness of breath in 2014.
