A judge in China’s highest court condemned President Donald Trump for his attacks on the judge that put a temporary hold on his executive order restricting travel from seven terror-prone countries.

Supreme People’s Court Judge He Fan labeled Trump an “enemy of the rule of law” in a vitriolic post online after the president slammed U.S. Judge James Robart on Twitter this past weekend, reports the Associated Press.

Robart temporarily blocked Trump’s executive order from being implemented nationwide Friday, triggering harsh responses from the White House and Trump. The White House initially called the ruling “outrageous,” asserting that “the president’s order is intended to protect the homeland and he has the constitutional authority and responsibility to protect the American people.”

Trump was far more critical.

Trump said that because of the ruling, “many very bad and dangerous people may be pouring into our country.” He accused Robart of opening “up our country to potential terrorists and others that do not have our best interests at heart.”

“If something happens blame him and court system,” Trump added.

He Fan said Trump set a poor example as the leader of the world’s most democratic country. “The president who would curse a judge and the thug who would kill a judge are both public enemies of the rule of law,” he wrote, referencing the recent murder of a retired Chinese judge in southern China.

“Who cares that you control the armed forces and have nuclear weapons at your disposal? Your dignity has been swept away and you are no different than a scoundrel,” he added.

He asserted that a president who suffers a loss should deal with it in silence rather than attack the judge who challenged him.

The U.S. Department of Justice has called Trump’s executive order “a lawful exercise of the President’s authority over the entry of aliens into the United States and the admission of refugees.”

China rejects judicial independence as “erroneous thought,” giving the ruling Communist Party of China control of all important judicial processes.
