A homeowner in a suburb outside of Dallas, Texas, shot and killed a man who was allegedly attempting to break into a car.
Authorities arrived on the scene at around 3 a.m. in a neighborhood in Arlington, Texas. The homeowner chose to remain anonymous but told the police he had shot the suspect after witnessing the man attempting to steal the vehicle, Dallas News reports.
The vehicle in question reportedly left the scene after the would-be car burglar was shot. Authorities believe it was driven away by someone who knew the suspect.
The suspect died shortly after the shooting in a nearby hospital.
While the details of this case are still being worked out, it would not be the first time an armed, law abiding citizen stopped a crime from happening. In fact, there have been dozens of instances in just the last few years.
