New York Times features writer Jacob Bernstein is out of the closet — the calling-first-lady-Melania-Trump-a-hooker closet, that is.

On Tuesday — Valentine’s Day — he apologized on Twitter for his behavior after being spoken to by superiors.

Bernstein attended a party on Sunday for New York Fashion Week when he made his remarks. He was overheard by supermodel Emily Ratajkowski, who then tweeted his words without using his name. Melania Trump has since thanked the supermodel.

Not everyone is applauding Bernstein.

New York Mag’s Olivia Nuzzi, a new White House reporter, isn’t sure apologizing is the way to go.
