US Weekly is going to have to eat its words.

The gossipy Hollywood mag reported weeks ago the dark rumor that first lady Melania Trump and 10-year-old Barron may not move to the White House at the end of the year. They cited a “family friend” who clearly doesn’t know much about what is happening inside the first family.

President Trump dispelled that notion Thursday when he declared that yes, Melania and Baron will be moving to Washington and into White House with Trump.

Trump delivered in his remarks in an epic White House press briefing in which he did not play Teleprompter Trump, his horrible alter-ego, but instead played himself — easy and breezy and willing to answer anything asked of him, however antagonistic.

Even NYT writer Jeremy Peters was impressed with Trump’s performance.

“This is what Trump has always excelled at doing: creating a spectacle that makes us forget why you were so appalled to begin with,” he wrote on Twitter.

Politico‘s Capitol Hill bureau chief John Bresnahan agreed, saying, “Trump clearly has been dying to have this press conference ever since he was sworn in. He’s his own best spokesman.”

Let’s all hope Trump does this more often.
