The “National Day Without Immigrants,” a day where immigrants didn’t show up for work, closing businesses nationwide was planned for Thursday, but only 4 restaurants closed within 3 blocks of the White House.

The four restaurants were out of the 184 restaurants open for lunch within the 3 block radius, according to Google Maps, producing a success rate of just 2 percent.

The restaurants that closed were the Sunrise Cafe, just behind the historic Mayflower hotel, Chopt on K Street, as well as Nerds and Nibblers and the City Place cafe, just across the street from The Daily Caller News Foundation offices.

“Of course I’m disappointed, but good for them,” one unnamed potential City Place customer told the DCNF. “I support them.”

There was a group of businessmen waiting by the door of Nerds and Nibblers, trying to decide where else to eat after they discovered the eatery closed for the protest.

“How do they expect to get anybody to care about them this way?” one passerby commented. “Every other place I walked by today is open.”

“Our team is the heart and soul of Chopt, and we know what can be accomplished when we all work together,” the official letter on the door of the Chopt restaurant on K street said.

“Today, in our restaurants where the majority of our team chose not to work, we will be closed, and we support them.”

Perhaps the most noticeable change was the lack of food trucks in Washington. There was only one food truck off Franklin Square, the site of the massive protests during the inaugural weekend. Usually the curb is packed with trucks offering food from every conceivable cuisine.

McPherson and Farragut squares also saw a reduction in food trucks, although the difference wasn’t as drastic.
