Lindsay Lohan claimed airport employees racially profiled her while she walked through London’s Heathrow Airport.

The white actress explained on a British radio show Tuesday that she was wearing a headscarf when an airport employee stopped her, reports the Associated Press.

“When I was flying to New York recently I was wearing a headscarf and I got stopped at the airport and was racially profiled for the first time in my life,” Lohan said. “[The agent] opened my passport and saw Lindsay Lohan and started apologizing but said, ‘Take off your headscarf.'”

Lohan explained she wore the scarf as a sign of respect since she had been traveling to Turkey to visit President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The whole incident made her more sympathetic to women who might not want to take off their headscarves, Lohan said.

“I mean, it’s OK. But what scared me was that moment, how would another woman who doesn’t feel comfortable taking off her headscarf feel? That was really interesting to me,” Lohan said.

Lohan also addressed rumors that she converted to Islam after photographs surfaced of her carrying a Quran. Lohan explained that the Islamic culture feels like “family” to her.

“I just study it, nothing is confirmed yet… I don’t want to speak on something I haven’t finished yet. I find a solace in studying not just the Quran but meditation. The Islamic culture, I feel it’s a family to me, they’ve been really good people to me,” Lohan said.
