The Mirror would normally say this was an innocent slip of the tongue.
Or a confusing use of language.
Which likely it was.
But when you use “12-year-old girl” and “penis” in the same sentence to make a point about transgender bathroom guidelines, it’s probably not headed anywhere good.

On Thursday — that’s FIVE days ago — CNN “New Day” host Chris Cuomo buried himself in Twitter turmoil after he suggested a 12-year -old girl or her father were to blame for not being more tolerant about seeing a penis in the ladies room. The debate stemmed from President Trump overturning ex-President Obama‘s transgender bathroom dictate, which hands the decision over to states.
On Monday morning, Cuomo was still talking about it. Cuomo obviously backs transgenders being able to potty where they please. And for the umpteenth time, he said that a 12-year-old girl seeing a man’s penis in a public restroom is not okay.
He has move on from “penis” to “male genitals.”
So that’s something.
