Protesters in Cleveland attended a Community Police Commission meeting Tuesday, demanding police union president Steve Loomis resign from the commission.

Loomis, the president of the Cleveland Police Patrolmen’s Association (CPPA), has been under fire ever since the police union endorsed then-candidate, now-President Donald Trump in September. (RELATED: NAACP Feuds With Cleveland Police Union Over Trump Endorsement)

The CPPA, which represents 1,450 officers and staff in the city of Cleveland, overwhelmingly voted to endorse Trump over former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Loomis was not present at Tuesday’s meeting, but the protesters made their presence known by walking into the meeting together carrying signs that read “Lose Loomis.”

“I’m greatly concerned that the consent decree is being hindered in its goal of bias-free, constitutional community policing,” activist Garry Kanter said in a speech to the commissioners, according to Cleveland.com.

Loomis has missed 11 of the 18 meetings in 2016, and has yet to attend a meeting in 2017, according to local television station WHIO.

The commission’s mission, in part, is to “make recommendations on policies and practices related to community and problem-oriented policing, bias-free policing, and police transparency.”

Immediately after the CPPA’s endorsement of Trump, Black Lives Matter and the local chapter of the NAACP blasted Loomis for the endorsement and protested outside the police union offices. (RELATED: Black Lives Matter Is Furious Police Union Endorsed Trump)

Loomis has a history with the president, meeting him on numerous occasions during the campaign. He participated in a roundtable discussion with the Republican nominee and other union leaders in early September. He also appeared at a Trump rally in Akron during an August visit from the then-Republican nominee.

The National Fraternal Order of Police endorsed Trump for president in September, as did police associations throughout the country.
