Officials from states across the Dakota Access Pipeline route are casting doubt on recent claims that activists are trying to sabotage the line’s construction.

State officials in the Dakotas and Iowa said Tuesday they are unaware of any pipeline attacks in their states. Illinois officials have not responded to requests from reporters for comment.

Energy Transfer Partners, the developer constructing the pipeline, filed a legal filing Monday night suggesting recent sabotage efforts against the project pose “threats to life, physical safety and the environment.”

The so-called DAPL, which will shuttle 500,000 barrels of Bakken oil from North Dakota to Illinois, could have come under attack at some other section of the project. The project is nearly 1,200 miles long.

Various environmental activist groups with a track record of eco-terrorism have disputed ETP’s claims.

Jay O’Hara, a spokesman with Climate Disobedience Center, told reporters the group wasn’t involved in any attacks against the pipeline.

O’Hara’s group tried to shutdown valves on oil pipelines in North Dakota earlier this year to show support for the anti-DAPL movement.

“[W]e have nothing in the works,” O’Hara said.

The Red Warrior Society, another activist group with a history of using aggressive tactics against North Dakota officials last year, has not responded to reporter’s requests for comments.

ETP officials have not responded to requests for more details about the allegations.

A company spokesman did say in the court filing that the project will come online this week.
