Authorities arrested active-duty Marine Rafael Ari Aikens on Thursday for allegedly slaughtering two women in their own home in San Bernardino.

Aikens, a 22-year-old Marine, was arrested in his housing unit at the Twentynine Palms base in connection with a March 24 double homicide, The Sacramento Bee reports. Police received a 911 call about the homicide just over a week ago and discovered the bodies of 62-year-old Renee Metcalf and her 32-year-old daughter Christy McKissic.

Both Metcalf and McKissic’s bodies were riddled with gunshots. While at the house, police also discovered a 10-year-old girl who was not hurt in the incident.

After investigating, Morongo Basin Sheriff’s deputies identified Aikens as the subject of interest. Local authorities worked with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service to arrest Aikens, who is now being held on a $2 million dollar bond in the Morongo Basin Jail.

Metcalf was a bartender at the Virginian, a bar located on the Twentynine Palms base. Metcalf’s daughter, McKissic, helped her with the job.

No possible motive has been released for the homicides.

Aikens will be arriaigned in the Joshua Tree courthouse on Tuesday.
