Every night, I read before bed. Also every night, I wish I had a bedside lamp. I don’t, so I usually end up falling asleep with the lights on. Not ideal.

Looks like I’ll finally get around to fixing this problem. This dimmable bedside lamp is only 25 bucks right now. I’m way, way more willing to spend that than $90, even if it is worth that much.

Albrillo Dimmable Bedside Lamp with Touch Sensor and Color Changing Modes, Warm White on sale for $24.99

Sixty-two percent of customers gave this lamp a perfect 5 out of 5 star review. But even the ones who didn’t still seem quite positive.

Justin Atkinson gave it only 4 stars, but titled his review “Good lamp, excellent service”:

Bought this bedside night light to use in our bedroom for tending to the newborn. It arrived quickly. The base works fine, has many functions and colors of light. It is easy to use. Albrillo followed up with an email to ensure satisfaction. The only thing that is not perfect (and believe me, the designers have tried hard to make it as perfect as possible) is that the lowest white light setting is still bright when close to the wall. We wrapped/taped two pieces of printer paper around the lamp to dim it down and that seems to work well. Overall we are happy with the company and the product.

Peter Blanco titled his review “‘I love lamp!’ But on a serious note, this little guy is pretty cool”:

There’s only so much to say about a product like this. It’s a color changing lamp that has 3 levels of brightness when using white light, or can vary across the RGB spectrum. Controls take a second to get used to and figure out, but they’re intuitive and make sense when you figure it out. Make sure to just take 30 seconds and skim over the tiny little pamphlet that comes with it.One complaint I have is that the “white” light that it produces is more cream like color than a true white color. This wouldn’t be a huge issue if this wasn’t powered by LED lights , and the product description didn’t advertise it as as “Dimmable White Light”, and for $35 it should be a cleaner white. Granted, the LED spectrum varies in color accuracy and whiteness, but if I am going to critique a product I am going to critique it accurately. I do tech reviews on YouTube (…) and I would have loved for this to act as a nice accent white light for my videos, but because it’s not a very clean white I cannot use it in my videos.

If you’re not into filming like I am and just want to use it casually, it’s great for just that. For my use cases my only major gripe is the whiteness, but aside from that it works as advertised.

Would I pay $90 for this? Probably not. But I probably wouldn’t pay $90 for any bedside lamp – it just isn’t that pressing of a need. But $25? Absolutely.
