New video shows the moments before an Asian doctor was dragged off the United Airlines flight Sunday.

The airline told passengers Sunday that four of them would have to leave to make room for some of the crew. The doctor, identified as David Dao, tried to explain to airport security officers that he needed to stay on the flight because he had patients to see, according to the video released Tuesday.

“I’m a physician and I have to work tomorrow at 8 o’clock,” Dao told the aviation officer in the video. The airport security officers try to convince him to get off the flight, but Dao refuses to leave his seat.

“I won’t go. I’m staying right here,” Dao said in the footage, uploaded by fellow passenger Joya Cummings, adding they would have to drag him off the flight.

Dao was then dragged off the plane by airport security officers, a move that left him bloodied and disoriented.

United Airlines CEO Oscar Munoz called Dao “disruptive” and “belligerent” in a statement Monday, but seemed to walk his comments back in another statement Tuesday.

“I share all of those sentiments, and one above all: my deepest apologies for what happened. Like you, I continue to be disturbed by what happened on this flight and I deeply apologize to the customer forcibly removed and to all the customers aboard,” Munoz said Tuesday.
