Populist presidential candidate Marine Le Pen refused to answer questions Tuesday on whether or not she wants France to leave the eurozone if elected.

Le Pen said she feels European and understands people’s concerns over what would happened if France changed its currency. Returning to the franc is part of Le Pen’s platform, but she has recently softened her tone to attract voters.

“I am not an adversary of Europe,” she said Tuesday, according to Bloomberg. “I feel French first, of course, but I’m also European.”

Le Pen did not give a direct answer on whether or not she still wants to leave the eurozone. If it comes down to it, she would give the French people the final say.

“I want to convince the European Union to negotiate,” she said. “Whatever happens, the French will get the final say.”

Centrist Emmanuel Macron holds a 20-point lead in polls. Le Pen’s chances of winning the May 7 election relies on a low voter turnout and her ability to attract voters who didn’t back her in the first round Sunday.
