The Republican-backed Congressional Leadership Fund announced it will invest a huge sum of cash to win the Georgia run-off vote to replace former GOP Rep. Tom Price, according to a Thursday report from Georgia-based ZPolitics.

The fund announced it will spend $2.5 million in TV ads beginning May 10. The group also plans to spend an additional $1 million towards mailers, digital ad campaigns, and door-knocking campaigns until the June 20 vote.

The Leadership Fund has spent $3 million so far in opposition to Democratic front-runner Jon Ossoff, but the group promises a continued fight.

“The idea that the Democrats’ chosen candidate is someone who doesn’t even live in the 6th District, has no record of accomplishment, and is relying on Nancy Pelosi to fund his campaign shows how desperate they are,” Bliss said in a statement. “The truth is, Ossoff is unfit to serve Georgia’s 6th District. We’ll continue to expose him as the flawed candidate he is, and ensure Karen Handel is the next congresswoman from GA-06.”

Ossoff launched an extremely well-funded campaign, earning $8.3 million in the first quarter of 2017 for the “jungle primary” that pitted the Democrat against 11 Republican challengers. Ossoff won with just over 48 percent of the vote but will face Republican former Georgia Secretary of State Karen Handel in the run-off vote this summer.
