Hillary Clinton admitted Tuesday she supported the missile strike on Syria in response to Bashar al-Assad using chemical weapons on his people.
During an event for Women for Women International, Clinton was asked if the Syria strike worked.
“I think it’s too soon to really tell,” she said, before CNN correspondent Christiane Amanpour asked if she supported the strike.
“Yes, I did support it,” Clinton revealed.
“I didn’t publicly support it because there was, you know, that wasn’t my role but I did support it,” she continued. “But I am not convinced it really made much of a difference.”
At the risk of sounding too pro-Trump, Clinton went on to suggest there may have been “backroom deals” with the Russians and listed another number of issues not addressed by the strike.
“Syria’s another one of those wicked problems that everyone is desperately trying to figure out — how to stop the civil war, how to prevent Iran from increasing influence, how to prevent Russia from having a real foothold in the Middle East…now Turkey and what it’s going to do is now a big question mark,” she ranted.
