When E! finally gets around to doing a “True Hollywood Story” behind MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” program, this is what they can call it.

Until then, it’s true. Joe Scarborough and Mika Breziznski, who are finally in a relationship that they’ll admit to, are engaged, according to multiple news outlets who are claiming exclusivity, including New York Post‘s Page Six and Vanity Fair.

“I’m so happy for them even though they’re awful,” a Washington journalist told The Mirror.

They got engaged during their long weekend away to the south of France and Monaco. Page Six reported that Joe got down on one knee in Bar Bellini in Antibes and popped the question. The chic chic trip came after an on-air spat in which Joe called his bride-to-be “snotty” and “rude.”

Viewers angrily wondered why Mika — what, with her “Know Your Value” campaign for women — would allow Joe to treat her like this.

But the TV couple has engaged in on-air bickering for years.

Since the program’s inception in 2007, they had a certain chemistry despite both being married to other people. (Both are obviously no longer married to others — Mika quietly divorced her husband, James Hoffer, of 23 years in 2016. Joe unhitched himself from Susan Warren in 2013.)

Even President Trump saw this relationship a mile away and outed Joe-Brz during his campaign in his own rollercoaster ride of a relationship with the couple. In August, 2016, he couldn’t resist tweeting about them.

Despite the fact that “Page Six” broke the story at 5:04 a.m. Thursday, some four hours later at 9 a.m., Vanity Fair posted a story also claiming to have the exclusive.

Sorry, Vanity Fair, but you technically lose on this one. The time stamp matters.

However, Mika actually spoke to Vanity Fair about her breathless, unrelenting feelings for Joe, so there’s that: “Over the past year and a half, I realized I had to face these feelings and that it was time to stop putting them in a box. It was not an easy process and it was not an easy set of decisions for either of us. It was something I couldn’t deny anymore.”

Mika said when Joe asked her to marry him, she began laughing “nervously, almost hysterically.”

In January, when Joe-Brz visited the White House, they received not one but TWO offers to perform the nuptials — one from Jared Kushner, the other from President Trump himself. Mika told Vanity Fair, “No, no, no, no, no, no.”

But this scenario isn’t likely since Trump unfollowed the TV couple on Twitter in March after they announced that one of his aides, Kellyanne Conway, would no longer be invited on “Morning Joe.” There’s also the issue of Trump’s mental capacity — lately  the TV couple has been questioning his lucidity, with Joe implying that Trump may have dementia.

The next issue is how MSNBC handles the couple as a married couple and how “Morning Joe” is affected by it.

Some are skeptical.

Washington journalist and Editor-in-Chief of Big League Politics Patrick Howley knows a little something about relationships being brought out into the open — his own past one with The New York Observer‘s Ashe Schow.

“The show will go from middling to more middling,” he said. “People need some Ross and Rachel energy. On Tucker’s malevolent advice, I went public with a media romance once as you recall, and needless to say we have not spoken in years.”

(Yeah, I do remember that one.)

Congrats to the happy couple!
