South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham used the testimony of Sally Yates Monday to address President Trump’s speculation that a 400-pound hacker could have been responsible for the Democratic National Comittee leaks and other election interference tactics.

In his opening remarks to the Senate Judiciary Committee, Graham said he had no doubt that Russians were responsible for US election interference.

“The intelligence community unanimously said that the Russians, through their intelligence services, tried to interfere in the 2016 American presidential election, that it was the Russians who hacked Podesta’s emails, it was the Russians who broke into the Democratic National Committee, and it was the Russians who helped empower Wikileaks,” Graham asserted.

While Graham clarified that the Russians did not change any votes in the election, “every American should be concerned” their potential to undermine US democracy.

He then addressed Trump’s statements that China or a 400-pound hacker could have been responsible for the DNC leaks, specifically.

“From my point of view, there’s no doubt in my mind it was the Russians involved with the things I just described, not some 400-pound guy sitting on a bed or any other country.”
