The ladies on “The View” clearly didn’t expect their audience to cheer as they announced Wednesday on their show that President Donald Trump had fired FBI Director James Comey.

“I’m sure you all have heard, but FBI Director James Comey’s been fired,” Whoopi Goldberg announced to the audience who could be heard cheering. (RELATED: Fight Breaks Out On ‘The View’ Over Why Hillary Lost)

The host then explained that the firing was specifically over the way Comey dealt with the Hillary Clinton email investigation. Later, she questioned what changed between Trump and Comey that lead to this decision. (RELATED: Bill Maher Skewers Hillary Clinton For Returning To The Spotlight)

“I think what broke it up was the criminal investigation into the Trump’s campaign’s ties to Russia,” Sunny Hostin explained.

“Hell hath no fury like an orange demi-god scorned,” Joy Behar responded. “Isn’t the reason he fired Comey have to do with the fact that he’s upset that Hillary Clinton got the shaft from Comey. I mean his affection for Hillary is so touching all of the sudden.”

“I had mixed emotions about it,” Jedediah Bila responded. “On the one hand, I was really glad that he was fired because I feel like Comey’s been a problem for a long time. With that being said, the timing…if you’re [Trump] citing in the letter that you have a problem with Comey as a result of something that happened last summer, why are you firing him today.”
