The Late Show Host Stephen Colbert declared victory over President Donald Trump during his show Thursday after the president called him a “no-talent guy.”

Trump attacked Colbert along with CNN hosts Don Lemon and Chris Cuomo in an interview with TIME Magazine published Thursday. The president was surprisingly lenient on Colbert, slamming the news anchors much harder than the late night comedian.

Colbert asserted that he “won” during the opening monologue of his show because he had been trying to get Trump to say his name for a year.

“The president of the United States has personally come after me and my show, and there’s only one thing to say … yay!” Colbert said Thursday evening. “Mr. Trump, there’s a lot you don’t understand, but I never thought one of those things would be show business.”

“Don’t you know I’ve been trying for a year to get you to say my name? And you were very restrained, admirably restrained, but now you did it. I won.”

The president called Colbert a “no-talent” guy who used “filthy” language during the TIME interview.

“You see a no-talent guy like Colbert. There’s nothing funny about what he says. And what he says is filthy. And you have kids watching,” Trump said Thursday.

The comments directed at Colbert were much lighter than the criticism the president had for Lemon and Cuomo.

“Chris Cuomo, he’s sitting there like a chained lunatic. He’s like a boiler ready to explode, the level of hatred. And the entire, you know the entire CNN platform is that way,” Trump said in the TIME interview.

“This Don Lemon who’s perhaps the dumbest person in broadcasting, Don Lemon at night it’s like – sometimes they’ll have a guest who by mistake will say something good. And they’ll start screaming, we’re going to commercial. They cut him off.”

CNN responded by stating that Trump’s statements were “below the office of the presidency” in an official press release Thursday.
