House Freedom Caucus member Rep. Rod Blum of Iowa said the House Obamacare repeal bill only “tweaks” the Affordable Care Act and would have liked to have seen the legislation move more to the right.

According to Blum, who faced a tough re-election in his swing district, the American Health Care Act changes just a fraction

“Only about 10 percent of Obamacare was changed with this bill that we passed in the House, only 10 percent,” he told constituents Thursday evening, according to ABC news.

Blum asserted he does not believe anyone will lose Medicaid coverage under the House plan after event attendees questioned the potential for loss of care.

“Quite frankly, this bill is a tweak of Obamacare,” he said earlier in the week.

Blum said he wasn’t fully satisfied with the revised legislation — which would allow states to opt out of the community rating system and a number of Obamacare’s Title I regulations —  but ultimately decided to support the measure.

“You can’t get what you want all the time,” he said. “So in the end, I compromised.”

The House passed the AHCA May 4 by a narrow margin. Much of its language is expected to be reworked in the Senate before it’s sent back to the lower chamber.
