Here’s the story with Fox News’s Martha McCallum: She’s staying

From Fox News PR:
“Martha MacCallum has re-signed a long-term contract with the network, announced Suzanne Scott, president of programming for FNC. MacCallum will remain as anchor of FNC’s The Story with Martha MacCallum (weeknights at 7PM/ET) and will continue her contributions to FNC’s top-rated election coverage.”

Scott said, “Over the past 12 years, Martha has built a relationship with our viewers based on her engaging personality and trustworthiness. She has proven herself to be an essential component of the network’s programming.”

MacCallum, whose program launched on May 1, remarked, “I’m extremely proud of what we have built here at FOX News and the relationship we have with our loyal viewers. What we started over the course ofThe First 100 Days, and now continue with The Story each night, kicks off the best primetime lineup in news. I am proud to be part of our great political and news coverage and look forward to the future of FOX News.”

Columnist has a question about Barron Trump’s feelings

“If we’re now going to get updates on how Barron feels about coverage of his dad, can I ask what Barron thought of the ‘grabbing’ tape pls?” — Mehdi Hasan, columnist, The Intercept.

About that White House off-camera gaggle…

“WH advises that today’s off-camera gaggle is now ‘Not For Broadcast’ – so, condolences to SXM POTUS, C-SPAN, and that weird BuzzFeed potato.” — Jared Rizzi, White House correspondent for SXMPOTUS and SIRIUSXM.

 Maybe it’ll be less drama?

“This not necessarily a bad thing. It’s how gaggles used to be. Could make them more informative, less theatre.” — Sunday Times of London‘s Toby Harnden.

In defense of reporters and the off-camera gaggle…

“I also just flatly reject the implicit suggestion that reporters are any less assertive during an off-cam briefing.” — MSNBC’s Hallie Jackson.
