A white van has reportedly plowed into at least 20 pedestrians on London Bridge, and while police have arrived on the scene to shut down traffic, no announcement has been made regarding whether the incident is a terrorist attack.

Witnesses told BBC that officers quickly arrived on the scene after a van veered off the road and started driving on the sidewalk and plowing into people.

The Daily Mail reported that the van hit 20 pedestrians. The BBC is reporting that the van hit five or six people. Police are reporting more than one fatality at the scene, but have no concrete numbers yet.

Metropolitan Police confirmed via Twitter that a serious incident took place on London Bridge, but have otherwise held onto other details to avoid spreading rumors.

According to BBC, Transport For London said the bridge has been totally closed down and bus routes switched reworked. One of BBC’s reporters, Holly Jones, was on the bridge at the time of the incident. Jones said that a man was driving the van at “about 50 miles an hour.”

Sky News also cited a report from Reuters, in which a witness spotted “apparent knife wounds” on the bridge.

Reports of the London Bridge incident are coming in a day before Ariana Grande’s concert is scheduled in Manchester, following the terror attack that interrupted her first concert.

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer tweeted shortly after the incident that the national security team has briefed President Donald Trump on the facts at hand.
