Metropolitan Police in London are responding to a second violent incident in Borough Market just yards away from London Bridge, where a van plowed into pedestrians.

Further tweets from police confirmed that officers responded to reports of stabbings in Borough Market and fired shots.

The incident at Borough Market has occurred mere moments after police arrived on the scene of London Bridge, where a white van veered off the road and began mowing down pedestrians on the sidewalk. The number of people hit is unconfirmed, but some reports claim that it may be up to 20 people. Other outlets, like the BBC, say only five to six people have been struck by the vehicle. Authorities have not yet stated whether either events are acts of terror.

London Bridge has been completely shut down, and the area is swarming with armed police.

Prime Minister Theresa May is in contact with officials and receiving updates on the incidents.
