Today, I was scrolling through Amazon’s deals, and I was surprised to stumble upon this:
See that? A “Father’s Day Sale” on a “dematting comb for dogs & cats.” Now, a further investigation reveals that this is actually a very popular item – it is the #1 bestselling grooming rake on Amazon, and has over 1,600 – overwhelmingly positive – customer reviews:
That’s all well and good. But the product title here clearly indicates that it is meant for cats and dogs. My dad is neither a cat or a dog, so why would I get him this for Father’s Day? It makes more sense to get you father a tie or socks or something meant for humans.
Credit where credit’s due…I would never be writing about a dematting comb without this sale. So good marketing, guys. GoPets claims this is “the original and best dematting comb on the market,” which I have no reason to doubt.
What do I know, maybe your dad “identifies” as a cat or dog. That’s what all the cool kids are doing these days, right?
