JP Morgan Chase & Co. is pulling its digital and television ads from NBC News until after Megyn Kelly’s interview with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones airs Sunday.

The company does not want its name appearing next to plugs for the interview, which will air on Kelly’s new program “Sunday Night With Megyn Kelly,” the Wall Street Journal reported Monday.

JP Morgan’s Chief Marketing Office criticized Kelly’s decision to conduct the interview via Twitter on Monday, referencing Jones’ past characterizations of the Sandy Hook Massacre as a hoax.

Victims of the Sandy Hook massacre and others have derided the interview on Twitter, using #ShameOnNBC to voice their criticisms. Many of the critics argued Jones’ past statements about the tragedy, which left 20 children and six staffers dead, should disqualify him from a major media appearance.

The interview has been advertised as an exploration of “controversies and conspiracies.” In a promotional clip, Kelly pushes back against Jones’ Sandy Hook conspiracy theories.

“When you say parents faked their children’s deaths, people get very angry,” Kelly says.

Jones attempts to defend himself by equivocating.

“But they don’t get angry about half-a-million dead Iraqis from the sanctions?” he says.

The clip concludes with Jones enthusiastically pivoting to another conspiracy.

“Thirty years ago they began creating animal human hybrids. Isn’t that the big story, Megyn Kelly?” he asks.

Its not clear from the clip exactly who “they” refers to in this context.

Jones called for Kelly to cancel the interview via Twitter Monday, alleging the promotional clip misrepresented his views on Sandy Hook.

Jones’ attorney Randall Wilhite admitted Jones was a “performance artist” and said he was “playing a character” in a Texas courtroom during a pre-trial hearing in April ahead of Jones’ custody battle with his ex-wife Kelly Jones.

Kelly defended the interview on Twitter Sunday night arguing Jones’ proximity to President Donald Trump makes it important that the American people understand who he is.

Trump publicly praised the Infowars founder in December of last year, calling Jones’ reputation “amazing” during an appearance on his radio show.
