This summer, Amazon will be hosting its third “Prime Day,” the one-day sales event that offer huge savings five months before the holiday season. It’s basically Cyber Monday for the summer, except in many cases the prices on items will be even better than they’ll ever get in November or December. Prime Day, in other words, is a day to watch out for. The Daily Dealer will let you know when it is as soon as the date is officially announced.

If you remember last year’s Prime Day, the two hottest items were the Instant Pot and the Amazon Echo. For that one day, if you remember, the Amazon Echo was $50 off. It has not been discounted that low since. Not Black Friday. Not Cyber Monday. Never.

Until today. In a surprise one-day-only deal, the Amazon Echo is again $50 off.

By now, you should know that we at the Daily Dealer are HUGE Amazon Echo fans. Alexa, the virtual personal assistant, is a welcome addition to any household. The Echo’s worth getting simply as a voice-responsive speaker. When considering all the other functions Alexa can do – turn off the lights, order pizza, play a game, to name a few – it becomes clear that she is worth every penny of the $180 the Echo always costs. At $130, it’s a no-brainer.
