Stephen Curry To Play In Web.com Golf Tour Event

Two-time NBA league MVP. Two-time NBA champion. These are a few of the things that come to mind when you hear the name Stephen Curry. Golfer is not the first thing that comes to mind, although it might be soon.

Curry is set to play in the Ellie Mae Classic from August 3-6 according to golfchannel.com The two-time NBA MVP received a sponsor exemption,  which made him eligible to play. The event goes toward benefiting the Warriors Community Foundation.

Curry has said in the past that golf is his passion, next to basketball and enjoys playing during the offseason. He has also said that he would have wanted to play golf if basketball had not worked out for him like it has.

Curry told golfchannel.com that he looks forward to playing and raising a lot of money for the foundation.

According to golfchannel.com 49ers legend Jerry Rice has also taken a swing at the same Web.com Tour event, but failed to make the cut each time he has played.

Stephen now has the opportunity to put his skills to the test against the pros.
