Actor Andrew Garfield is currently playing a homosexual character who battles AIDS in a London production of “Angels in America.” Garfield has also taken up watching a lot of “Ru Paul’s Drag Race” but, as it happens, that doesn’t make you gay.
During a recent panel event, the actor said that “every Sunday I would have eight friends over and we would just watch Ru” to prepare for the role. “This is my life outside of this play. I am a gay man right now just without the physical act — that’s all.”
Actual gay people, and others, were less than impressed with his comments.

Andrew Garfield is “gay without the physical act” because he watches RuPaul.

Garfield then admitted that he’s not actually gay…for now, but that could change.
“As far as I know, I am not a gay man,” he continued. “Maybe I’ll have an awakening later in my life, which I’m sure will be wonderful and I’ll get to explore that part of the garden, but right now I’m secluded to my area, which is wonderful as well.”
