A pro-life African activist criticized the British government and the International Family Planning Summit in London Wednesday for pushing increased abortions upon African countries.

Uju Ekeocha, founder of the pro-life group Culture of Life Africa, spoke out against the Family Planning Summit in London that met to discuss “ensuring women and girls have access to family planning services,” Catholic News Service reported.

“All I can say with certainty is that we, as a society, LOVE and welcome babies,” Ekeocha wrote in “An African Woman’s Open Letter To Melinda Gates.”

Ekeocha went on to criticize the conference for trying to assert Western values of family planning and abortion services into Africa. “None of these countries has asked for this ‘aid’ money,” she said in an interview with CNS.

“The moment these huge amounts of contraceptive drugs and devices are injected into the roots of our society, they will undoubtedly start to erode and poison the moral sexual ethics that have been woven into our societal DNA by our faith, not unlike the erosion that befell the Western world after the 1930 Lambeth conference!” Ekeocha wrote. “In one fell swoop and one ‘clean’ slice, the faithful could be severed from their professed faith.”
