O.J. Simpson was granted parole Thursday and everyone from comedian Kathy Griffin to actor Mark Hamill had something to say about it.

The 70-year-old Hall of Famer could be out as early as October 1 after serving almost 9 years for an armed robbery in Las Vegas in 2008. He has spent the last eight years at Lovelock Correctional Facility near Las Vegas, Nevada, where he was sent 13 years to the date after he was acquitted in the 1994 murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman. “With all that goes on in this world: terror, wars, heroic deeds, only #OJSimpson could trump #RussianCollusion for headlines? Pun intended,” Donnie Wahlberg tweeted.

“OJ: “lived a conflict-free life”–but we heard Nicole’s 911 calls, the baseball bat through her car windshield,” Harry Shearer tweeted.

Update: The story has been updated to reflect Simpson’s age as 70-years-old, not 69-years-old as originally reported.
