O.J. Simpson has been moved to “confined housing” at Lovelock Correctional Center for fear that other inmates, specifically those with life sentences and “nothing to lose,” might attempt to harm him before he is set free on parole.

The infamous football star was granted parole during his hearing on Thursday. Although there haven’t been any specific threats to Simpson’s life, he has been moved to a special housing area to protect him from other inmates, TMZ reports.
“It’s in the best interest of O.J. and the prison to make sure that he’s safe and comes out in one piece,” a prison rep told TMZ.

Simpson has served eight years of his 9- to 33-year sentence for his involvement in a 2007 incident in Las Vegas casino hotel room in which he stole his own property back from a sports memorabilia dealer.
The former NFL player was granted parole on Thursday. He’s expected to be released on October 1.
