A woman was arrested Tuesday for allegedly breaking into her ex-husband’s house and smashing 54 violins and 70 bows worth $950,000, according to local police.
The 34-year-old woman, Midori Kawamiya from Tokyo, Japan, destroyed violins that were said to have been made or collected by her 62-year-old Norwegian ex-husband in Nagoya, Japan, according to Kyodo News.
“She is suspected of entering the home by breaking a window sometime between January 30 and February 19 in 2014,” a police officer told AFP. Her ex-husband was away on on a business trip during the time of the break-in.
