An aspiring comedian attempted to perform what he called a “comedy routine” by robbing a bank Tuesday in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Alexander Hayden Sperber, 25, believed that robbing a bank and then stripping naked would be a brilliant way to start his comedy career, according to the FBI.
The bank teller gave Sperber $4,700 in a bag after he raise his hands in the shape of guns and pointed them at the counter. In the process, the teller placed a red dye pack into the bag along with the money, according to the complaint.
The bag exploded, leaving dye on his clothes and wrist, according to authorities. Seeing the red stains on his clothes, Sperber managed to strip down while running to the street to make his escape. Witnesses soon reported him running in the nude and throwing dollar bills in the air on Las Olas Boulevard.
Upon apprehension, authorities transported Sperber to the hospital and charged him with bank robbery.
