This kitchen knife is a #1 new release in the category of “kitchen utility knives.” I’ve been scouring Amazon for years now, and I still don’t know exactly what #1 new release means. (How new does it have to be?) But I obviously get what it implies. And that implication is borne out by the 47 customer reviews that this knife has. Eighty-one percent of them are perfect 5 out of 5 stars. The remaining 19 percent are a still rock-solid 4 out 5 stars.

Also, right now it is 70 percent off. That is, just $9!

Go and check out the reviews about how lightweight and easy to use this knife is. Even the ones that didn’t grant a perfect 5 out of 5 are still glowing. Take this 4-star review for example:

This knife is light, durable, sharp, and the perfect size for what I needed. Overall, its versatility will be an asset to my kitchen. I liked that it came with a thick, durable blade cover- not just for the tip- and had a great grip on the handle. I can see that the dots for the grip could perhaps become chafing if using too much or for prolonged amounts of time. For regular household use, it shouldn’t present a problem.

The packaging wasn’t impressive and was filled with poorly written English. As this was puchased for my own household, I didn’t mind it whatsoever. If you’re giving this as a gift, it is something that you may wish to keep in mind.

What I would have liked more about the blade is having some indents to encourage an easier cut. Albeit I knew that those were not a feature of the blade before buying, I realize now that it is something that I miss.

This isn’t a champion for things like tomato slicing or fancy cutting. Where it went incredibly right was when I cut through bone in a chicken breast. It needed very little effort to break the ribs and slice on through. I was impressed. I’m not a chef and don’t know what to expect in terms of professional quality, but within my own home, this is one our best knives.

There may not be all that many reviews yet, considering it is a “new release.” But there is a reason it’s #1. And that 4.8-star aggregate rating doesn’t hurt.
