On Monday the PGA Tour announced that President Trump will serve as an honorary chairman for the Presidents Cup.

President Trump will be the 11th world leader to serve as the chairman. Trump has a long relationship with golf and has multiple courses throughout the U.S.

This year, two of his courses were the hosts of tournaments on the LPGA Tour and Senior PGA Tour. The Senior PGA Championship was held at his Potomac Falls course in Virginia and U.S. Women’s Open was held at his course in Bedminster, New Jersey.

President Trump told golf channel.com that he is honored to serve as the chairman and that this one will be the best one. Other presidents to have served as chairman include Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama in 2013, which was the last time the tournament was held in the U.S.

Steve Stricker will play as captain to the American team and Nick Pearce to the international team.

The tournament will be held in the early fall from September 28 through October 1 at the Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, New Jersey.
