Jury selection began Monday in Denver for the trial involving a Colorado DJ who’s accused of groping Taylor Swift.

The radio host David Mueller initially sued the 27-year-old singer saying he was falsely accused and blaming the pop singer for losing his job after the alleged June 2013 incident during a photo-op at a Denver concert, where he’s seeking up to $3 million dollars in damages, Fox News reported Monday.  (RELATED: Taylor Swift Gave Fans Quite A View In A Tube Top And Short Leather Skirt [PHOTOS])

Swift then counter-sued and claimed sexual assault by Mueller, leading to the trial in civil court that will see the singer take the stand to testify. She’s seeking damages for $1 and hopes that the verdict serves “as an example to other women who may resist publicly reliving similar outrageous and humiliating acts,” according to her lawsuit.

In depositions that came out last year, Swift said she felt “violated” by the alleged incident.

“Right as the moment came for us to pose for the photo, he took his hand and put it up my dress and grabbed onto my ass cheek and no matter how much I scooted over it was still there,” Swift explained. “It was completely intentional, I’ve never been so sure of anything in my life. I remember being frantic, distressed, feeling violated in a way I had never experienced before.”

“A meet-and-greet is supposed to be a situation where you’re thanking people for coming, you’re supposed to be welcoming people into your home, which is the arena for that day, and for someone to violate that hospitality in that way, I was completely stunned,” she added.

The trial is expected to last about two weeks, with opening statements set to start Tuesday.
